Acidification Affecting Ocean Ecosystems

mussels_600Nearly half the carbon dioxide we spew into the atmosphere is taken up the earth’s oceans, moderating our impact on the greenhouse effect. But when carbon dioxide is absorbed by water it creates carbonic acid. The acidification of earth’s oceans is taking a toll on ocean ecosystems.
